Coffee in the Quad: A very informal coffee house event planned for four evenings in the open air to introduce students to OPTAMUS and the Executive Committee. Free coffee and Timbits were offered along with a coupon to receive a free gift just for visiting our office and Student Lounge in Rooms 221 & 222 of the Student Centre. Naturally, we included our informative literature and good will. The first Night – Monday – was not suitable for outside living weather wise so we set up by the back door of Oland Hall. Denise Legere, OPTAMUS Treasurer and Wendy Coughlin, Office Administrator, served the coffee and handed out the literature. Tuesday Night:
Mary Anne LeBlanc, President of OPTAMUS, Charlene Walsh, Board Member and
Wendy Coughlin served the students outside between Irving Hall and Oland Hall. Thursday: The table was set up in the same vicinity of Hazen Hall and Melanie MacFarlane, Board Member, and Wendy presided over the coffee pot. Sandra Hachey and Denise Legere, OPTAMUS Executives, visited us during the evening. Students seemed pleased to receive
information about OPTAMUS and the services that it provides.
