Membership in Local 815, AFM Who can join All performers on musical instruments, vocalists, or other individuals who render musical services of any kind for pay, are eligible for membership subject to the laws of and jurisdiction of the Federation. If you're 20 years or younger you may join the Local as a Youth Member, with all the rights and obligations of a Regular Member and subject to all Federation and Local rules, regulations and bylaws. Youth Members pay Local annual dues but are not subject to Local or Federation Initiation fees. Applicants under 19 years of age must have parental or guardian approval. Members under the age of 19 are not entitled to vote in the Local until they have reached the age of 19. In most cases, applicants for membership must be residents of New Brunswick. Fees and Dues The admission fee for new membership is the annual dues, pro-rated on a semi-annual basis, plus the initiation fees. The Local initiation fee is $30.00 and the Federation initiation fee is $65.00. Annual dues for 2010 for all members are $152.00. Dues may be paid in full by 31 December 2009, or in two payments (including an administrative fee): $84.00 by 31 December 2009 and $84.00 by 30 June 2010. Life Membership Any member having reached age 65 and holding a card in the American Federation of Musicians for 35 consecutive years may be given a Life Membership on presentation of proof of age. Annual dues for 2010 for Life Members are $88.00, payable in full by 31 December 2009 or in two payments: $51.00 by 31 December 2009 and $51.00 by 30 June 2010.
