Description of Services

WORKERS' REHABILITATION CENTRE

Worker's Rehabilitation Centre offers Occupational Rehabilitation to assist clients return to the workforce following injury or illness. There are six programs provided by the Centre.

Work Recovery- Intensive occupational rehabilitation delivered in interdisciplinary teams with the focus of assisting clients to return to the workforce.

Pain Management - A program of activity, education, and group therapy to assist clients learn to cope with chronic pain and resume a productive life.

Assistive Devices - Fabrication and fitting of various types of prostheses, braces and splints. The CAD/CAM technology now available at the Centre has revoluntionized the provision of below-knee prostheses and knee braces.

Vocational Evaluation- An assessment unit performing physical, functional and psychological testing to assist in determining the client's vocational future.

Client Health Education - Education sessions both to clients on treatment at the Centre and to employees in the workplace to reduce the risk of reinjury. The program also offers ergonomic evaluations of the worksite.

The Health Unit- which provides nursing services to maintain client's participation in their rehabilitation program.
