SOCIAL WELFARE APPEALS BOARD

Provides applicants or recipients of Income Assistance the opportunity to appeal a department decision to an independent tribunal which is not responsible to, or influenced by, the Department of Income Assistance. The Board, being an independent body, offers a different avenue of review and thus, while working within the terms of legislation, provides an unbiased and fair assessment of the financial situation of the applicant.
