GUIDELINES FOR A HEALTHY PREGNANCY

It makes sense to take care of yourself when you're pregnant...You'll feel good and you'll be giving your baby a healthy start in life. Here are some tips to help you have a healthy pregnancy:

*Get regular exercise. Walking is good. Be sure to check with your doctor about other activities such as swimming, tennis or other sports.

*Get plenty of rest

*Make sure you keep all your appointments with your doctor.

*Continue to see your dentist regularly.

*Arrange to take pre-natal classes and classes on child care. Now is a good time to get organized for when you will bring your baby home. You will need to think about diapers, clothing, blankets, and other things you may need for the baby.

*Consider the advantages of breast feeding - best for baby & mom

*Continue to make plans for your education and career. Keep a positive attitude!

*Talk to your doctor about the kinds of contraceptives you can use after the baby is born.

*Maintain a healthy lifestyle. In addition to proper diet and exercise, you should avoid smoking, alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs.

*Call your doctor if you have any of the following symptoms:

Keep a positive attitude. You are a special and important person!
