Mission Statement

The Kidney Foundation of Canada is a national, volunteer organization dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of people with kidney disease. The foundation funds research and related clinical education; provides services for the special needs of individuals living with kidney disease. Avocates for access to high quality health care, and actively promotes awareness of, and commitment to organ donation.

Description of Services

Provide "Living with Kidney Disease" manual to all patients

Provide educational materials

Provide financial assistance for transportation, medication and short term emergency assistance for accomodations

Peer support

Provide community liason and referrals

Criteria for Service Eligibility

Based on assessment by Hospital Dialysis Social Worker. Each application is considered and Social Assistance Councillor recommends

Second Tuesday of each month @ 6:30pm, 215 Wentworth Street (except for the summer months)
