FUNDY REGIONAL COUNCIL-ASSOCIATION FOR COMMUNITY LIVING

Advocacy group addressing issues facing people with mental disabilities such as: institutionalization, housing and support, equality of rights, employment, education, community inclusion, and the concerns of aging parents. Also involved in issues of social policy. Member are representatives from the following chapters of the Association for Community Living: Eastern Charlotte, St. Stephen, Sussex, Saint John and Rothesay. Sponsors the Older Parents Group, a support group that assists mentally disabled adults and their families plan for the time when the parents can no longer provide primary care. A Futures Planning Project is underlay to help families make specific plans for future care.
