- The services provided by the Extra Mural Hospital can be considered under two headings: (1) Professional Services (2) Support Services. The Extra Mural Hospital provides these only to those who can be safely cared for at home, under the direction of their own doctor, and who do not require the special expertise and sophisticated technology of the modern active treatment hospital. Professional Services: The staff of the E.M.H. includes: dieticians, respiratory therapists, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and social workers.
