Mission Statement

The Mission Statement of the Cherry Brook Zoo are to maintain Accreditation standards. To work in the areas of Conservation, Education, Research (behavioral) and Recreation.

Description of Services

The Cherry Brook Zoo is a registered non profit organization. It is a specialist zoo dealing in endangered and exotic species. It is also the first accredited zoo in Atlantic Canada by the Canadian Association of Zoological Parks and Aquariums.

The Cherry Brook Zoo is an outdoor zoo with approximately 32 species of animals totalling approximatley 150 specimens. Located in the northern section of Rockwood Park in beautiful natural terrain. Dealing in exotic and endangered species and a commitment to conservation and education. Facilites available include restaurant services, washrooms, free parking, Endangered Species Awareness Center, Safari Gift Shop. Also available for group pary's, Birthday Pary's and facility rentals. Special events are announced.

The Cherry Brook Zoo is home to several Species Survival Programs such as the Siberian Tiger, The Brown Lemur, and the Golden Lion Tamarin.

They have received national and international awards for thier efforts in Conservation and Education. The most recent in September 1996 for The Endangered Species Awareness Center and for their Contributions to the Conservation of the Golden Lion Tamarin.

Meeting Places, Times, & Special Events

The Cherry Brook Zoo is open seven days a week year round including all weekends and holidays. We also sponsor a volunteer organization called the Noah Foundation. For information on obtaining an application please call the listed number.
