Mission Statement
- The Association for Bright Children works to increase the understanding and acceptance of bright and gifted children/youth at home, at school, and in the community; and encourages parents, educators, and the community to nurture these children/youth to grow toward their full potential, that they may become responsible, contributing members of society.
Description of Services
- We work to meet the needs of adult members and their children. We encourage parents, teachers and other adults to share their experiences and concerns and to pool their resources. We provide support from other parents, access to ABC resource material, information to increase the parent's knowledge and make him/her a better advocate for the child, work co-operatively with local school authorities to encourage the development of programs to meet the needs of bright and gifted children, distribute provincial and chapter newsletters, encourage the provincial ministry to establish province-wide programs in our schools, speak to teachers on the subject of enrichment, provide oppurtunities for bright/gifted children to get together on an information basis.
